About the role

  • Preparing position papers, including on legal and broadcasting policy matters
  • Substantive preparation of meetings of the Broadcast Council and the Administrative Council as well as their committees and the ARD Committee Representatives’ Conference
  • Coordinating, preparing and drafting briefing papers for the committees’ decision-making
  • Substantive and organizational preparation of committee workshops
  • Taking minutes of Administrative Council meetings and various committees of the Broadcast Council
  • Coordination of (program) complaints

Requirements

  • A completed university degree, preferably in law
  • Experience in public-service broadcasting and in working with committees or supervisory bodies is an advantage
  • Proven experience in staff management is desirable
  • Strong communication skills, including decisiveness, ability to accept criticism, conflict-resolution skills and diplomatic strength
  • Strong decision-making and judgment skills
  • Situational sensitivity and confident handling of differing interests
  • Methodological skills (e.g. organization, delegation, setting and pursuing goals)
  • Personal competencies (e.g. self-reflection, personal responsibility, self-organization and adaptability)
  • Openness to change
  • Strong team orientation
  • Resilience and ability to work under high time pressure
