About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as the enterprise-wide architect and subject matter expert for Microsoft 365
- Define and maintain the architectural roadmap for Microsoft 365 services
- Lead the design and deployment of collaboration, productivity, identity, and security solutions
- Oversee tenant architecture, configuration standards, feature enablement, and advanced troubleshooting
- Provide architectural guidance for Microsoft Defender, Purview, Entra ID, and related technologies
- Design and refine Conditional Access, identity protection, data governance, and external collaboration controls
- Partner with cybersecurity, infrastructure, and application teams to integrate Zero Trust principles
- Architect and implement solutions across Exchange Online, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, Intune, and identity services
- Evaluate platform capabilities and drive enhancements based on emerging technologies and Microsoft best practices
- Assess and integrate new Microsoft 365 features into long‑term solution strategies
- Collaborate with Information Security, Infrastructure, and Compliance to ensure solutions meet enterprise needs
- Lead architectural discussions and influence cross‑functional teams
- Translate business and security requirements into scalable, supportable solutions
- Communicate decisions, risks, and trade‑offs clearly to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
Requirements
What you’ll need- 7-10 years of experience in cloud engineering, enterprise architecture, or Microsoft 365 solution design
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution preferred, or equivalent combination of relevant education, training, and experience
- Deep hands‑on experience architecting within the Microsoft 365 ecosystem
- Expertise in Microsoft Defender, Purview, DLP, sensitivity labels, Conditional Access, and identity governance
- Strong understanding of collaboration architecture, email/messaging security, and data protection frameworks
- Solid knowledge of Zero Trust models and enterprise-scale Microsoft 365 implementations
- Proven ability to drive architectural roadmaps and enterprise-wide technology adoption
- Performs architecture requirements analysis to convert end user needs into technical solutions
- Strong communication, influence, and cross‑team collaboration skills.
