About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Responsible for the installation, test and ultimate delivery of combat systems on naval platforms
Perform extensive stakeholder engagement and coordination with the ship builder and the teams responsible for design, production, installation and test
Plan and have oversight of the installation, integration, harbour-based testing and sea trials
Manage resources effectively and navigate complex technical challenges to achieve program success
Guide engineering planning that balances and addresses the threat environment, missions and schedule.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Tertiary qualification(s) in a relevant discipline (electrical engineering, computer science, etc.), and/or equivalent relevant experience
10+ years of systems engineering in an ASDEFCON context
5+ years in a leadership or management role, with a focus on fostering talent development, team cohesion, and a culture of continuous improvement
Designing, integrating and managing military systems
Software intensive systems
Systems engineering principles and practices
Managing a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders, including the customer
Developing and implementing strategic plans that align engineering activities with business objectives
Managing complex projects with a focus on long-term value creation and organisational growth
Ability to navigate complex technical challenges while ensuring that solutions are innovative and aligned with strategic goals
Excellent verbal and written communication, with the ability to convey complex technical information to diverse range of stakeholders.
