About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Responsible for the installation, test and ultimate delivery of combat systems on naval platforms
- Perform extensive stakeholder engagement and coordination with the ship builder and the teams responsible for design, production, installation and test
- Plan and have oversight of the installation, integration, harbour-based testing and sea trials
- Manage resources effectively and navigate complex technical challenges to achieve program success
- Guide engineering planning that balances and addresses the threat environment, missions and schedule.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Tertiary qualification(s) in a relevant discipline (electrical engineering, computer science, etc.), and/or equivalent relevant experience
- 10+ years of systems engineering in an ASDEFCON context
- 5+ years in a leadership or management role, with a focus on fostering talent development, team cohesion, and a culture of continuous improvement
- Designing, integrating and managing military systems
- Software intensive systems
- Systems engineering principles and practices
- Managing a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders, including the customer
- Developing and implementing strategic plans that align engineering activities with business objectives
- Managing complex projects with a focus on long-term value creation and organisational growth
- Ability to navigate complex technical challenges while ensuring that solutions are innovative and aligned with strategic goals
- Excellent verbal and written communication, with the ability to convey complex technical information to diverse range of stakeholders.
