About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide counselling to individuals and families on issues like immigration adjustment, marital, inter-generational, social and emotional issues, and trauma
  • Deliver Family Life Education and parenting workshops
  • Liaise with schools, government institutions, and voluntary agencies for integrative support
  • Perform intake duties for incoming calls/drop-ins
  • Conduct counselling interviews with individuals and families
  • Provide assessment, intervention, and evaluation for cases
  • Maintain and update client records according to the Division’s standards
  • Attend case conferences and present case scenarios regularly
  • Ensure all services meet accreditation standards
  • Work closely with staff from other divisions/offices to provide joint support
  • Perform report writing and other related administration work
  • Maintain statistical records for accountability and program development
  • Attend case conferences, supervision, team meetings, and training activities as required

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Master’s degree in Counselling, Social Work, or Clinical Psychology
  • Registered Clinical Counsellor membership
  • At least three (3) years of counselling work experience is preferable
  • Experience in conflict resolution and case management
  • Experience in facilitating groups
  • Knowledge on case planning and case management principles and techniques
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Additional language may be an asset when required to meet operational needs in serving communities with specific language requirements as this position supports Spanish, Ukrainian, Farsi and French speaking communities as part of our contractual obligations
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent program planning, time management and organizational skill
  • Excellent multitasking skills and flexible
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and internet skills
