Senior Advisor, Partnerships and Relations with Indigenous Communities

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Partnership development: develop and implement the organization’s direction and guidelines on partnerships
- Develop, negotiate and monitor strategic agreements
- Maintain strong business relationships with Sépaq’s national partners
- Analyze and recommend development and growth opportunities
- Support establishments in their regional partnerships
- Participate in the development of new products, services and special projects
- Represent Sépaq to partners, committees, conferences and events
- Indigenous relations: advise management and teams on issues, opportunities and best practices related to Indigenous relations
- Foster dialogue, consultation and collaboration with Indigenous communities and organizations
- Support teams in the delivery of projects affecting Indigenous communities
- Develop and maintain a network of partners and experts from Indigenous communities
- Design and deploy outreach, support and training initiatives
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Tourism Management, Indigenous Relations, or other relevant field
- At least seven years of experience in partnership management and in relations with Indigenous communities and stakeholders
- Established network of contacts within Indigenous communities
- Strong knowledge of and interest in Sépaq destinations, products, activities and services, as well as the tourism and outdoor recreation industry in general
- Excellent written and spoken French
- Proficient spoken and written English (upper-intermediate level)
- Proficiency in an Indigenous language (asset)
- Proficient with the Office 365 environment
- Strong influencing skills and sound political judgment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Good business acumen
- Strong analytical and synthesis skills
- Ability to work autonomously
- Ability to prioritize and manage tasks effectively
- Comfortable presenting and translating information into business-appropriate language
- Willingness to travel as required
