About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead and enhance enterprise-wide information governance and data compliance capabilities across S&P Global’s global data and analytics business
  • Design, implement, and govern enterprise information governance frameworks covering data creation, use, retention, and disposal
  • Own and maintain the Information Governance Policy, Information Classification Standard, and Records Retention Schedule
  • Establish and oversee enterprise-wide data classification frameworks and compliance monitoring
  • Partner with Information Security and technology teams on data access, storage, and protection controls
  • Implement and track metrics for classification compliance and data-handling effectiveness
  • Drive development of a scalable enterprise data governance model covering data inventory, cataloging, ownership, stewardship, and data-flow visibility and control
  • Embed governance controls across products, platforms, and operations
  • Embed privacy by design and default into business processes, systems, and product development
  • Support S&P Global’s Global Privacy Program and controls for lawful, fair, and proportionate processing of personal information
  • Partner with Legal, Compliance, and Risk teams on regulatory obligations across jurisdictions
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate data governance, retention, classification, and regulatory compliance risks
  • Support internal audits, regulatory inquiries, and external assessments
  • Maintain audit-ready compliance documentation and evidence
  • Support development, implementation, and enhancement of S&P Global’s AI governance framework
  • Establish and oversee AI lifecycle policies, standards, controls, and risk assessment processes where necessary
  • Partner with Legal, Compliance, Information Security, Technology, Risk, and business stakeholders to promote responsible, transparent, accountable, and compliant AI use
  • Collaborate with senior and executive stakeholders globally
  • Act as a senior advisor across Legal, Compliance, Technology, and business divisions
  • Lead cross-functional governance forums to drive alignment and accountability

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 10+ years’ experience in information governance, data governance, privacy, or regulatory compliance
  • Demonstrated experience in a global, data-driven organization
  • Experience using AI productivity tools and emerging technologies to improve efficiency and streamline workflows
  • Deep understanding of data lifecycle management
  • Deep understanding of records management and retention
  • Deep understanding of information classification frameworks
  • Strong knowledge of global data protection and privacy laws
  • Indefinite right to work in the United States
