About the role
- Provides leadership in the execution and delivery of technology solutions to support business applications.
- Leading and coordinating activities throughout development.
- Ensuring the appropriate use of standard models and software packages.
- Developing common application services.
- Ensure timely delivery of application development projects without compromising quality and performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- 15+ years of hands-on software development experience, including 5+ years in backend architecture roles.
- Demonstrated technical leadership experience: mentoring engineers, guiding design, and driving architectural decisions.
- Expert proficiency in C# and .NET (Core or modern equivalent), or comparable object-oriented backend technologies.
- Deep understanding of microservices, RESTful API design, and distributed systems.
- Advanced SQL skills, including database performance tuning for large-scale datasets.
- Strong experience with relational and non-relational databases, including schema design, indexing strategies, and scalability patterns.
- Knowledge of big data and large-scale data processing ecosystems, including distributed compute and ETL/ELT concepts (without requiring specific open-source frameworks).
- Experience with major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, and/or GCP), including cloud-native service design.
- Strong experience with containerization, orchestration, and automated build/release pipelines.
- Expertise in application design and code reviews, with focus on scalability, security, resiliency, and performance.
- Strong understanding of TDD/BDD, SOLID principles, and modern software engineering best practices.
- Proficiency in scripting/automation for system integration and operational workflows.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration with Product, Design, and Business stakeholders to align technical execution with business outcomes.
- Ability to make sound architectural trade-offs and drive technical strategy.
- Exposure to AI/ML or predictive analytics in backend systems is a plus.
