About the role

  • Collaborate with the spatial delivery and map services team to understand business requirements and automate workflows through the effective use of technology, systems, and process improvements
  • Review existing processes and develop automation solutions that are scalable, sustainable, and deliver measurable business value
  • Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Stay current with evolving technologies and apply them to meet business needs
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Perform additional duties as required
  • As part of a project team delivering internal process automation systems, work under the guidance of the Spatial Delivery Team.
  • Responsibilities include scripting and development using modern programming and scripting languages to support: Spatial data maintenance, validation, and distribution; Data conversion and coordinate transformation; Mapping workflows and general maintenance of internal spatial data structures

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Strong experience with enterprise geospatial platforms and services
  • Proficiency in one or more programming or scripting languages used for geospatial automation
  • Solid understanding of relational database systems and data modeling concepts
  • Experience working with coordinate systems, projections, and spatial reference standards
  • Familiarity with data transformation and spatial data processing tools
  • Working knowledge of server-based and desktop geospatial environments
  • Experience with cloud-based platforms and services (optional)
  • Familiarity with spatial database extensions or native spatial data types (optional)
  • Exposure to cloud-based analytical or data warehouse platforms (optional)
  • Experience working in Unix/Linux-based environments (optional)
