About the role
- Collaborate with the spatial delivery and map services team to understand business requirements and automate workflows through the effective use of technology, systems, and process improvements
- Review existing processes and develop automation solutions that are scalable, sustainable, and deliver measurable business value
- Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Stay current with evolving technologies and apply them to meet business needs
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Perform additional duties as required
- As part of a project team delivering internal process automation systems, work under the guidance of the Spatial Delivery Team.
- Responsibilities include scripting and development using modern programming and scripting languages to support: Spatial data maintenance, validation, and distribution; Data conversion and coordinate transformation; Mapping workflows and general maintenance of internal spatial data structures
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Strong experience with enterprise geospatial platforms and services
- Proficiency in one or more programming or scripting languages used for geospatial automation
- Solid understanding of relational database systems and data modeling concepts
- Experience working with coordinate systems, projections, and spatial reference standards
- Familiarity with data transformation and spatial data processing tools
- Working knowledge of server-based and desktop geospatial environments
- Experience with cloud-based platforms and services (optional)
- Familiarity with spatial database extensions or native spatial data types (optional)
- Exposure to cloud-based analytical or data warehouse platforms (optional)
- Experience working in Unix/Linux-based environments (optional)
