About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide senior level program and project management support to the US Forest Service.
Development, execution, and management of a PMO to support recovery efforts related to Hurricane Helene.
Manage project staff and ensure quality project deliverables are completed including Project Planning Dashboards and Project Management Training.
Coordinate Project Briefing Meetings and Partner Coordination.
Establish and maintain a PMO dashboard.
Provide overall management functions to staff supporting data management services and development of disaster recovery geodatabases.
Provide training for GWJ employees in project management.
Establish, organize, and implement a common operating framework for the Virginia Disaster Recovery Partnership (VDRP).

Requirements

What you’ll need

A minimum of a bachelor’s degree. Natural Resources or Business preferred.
Ten years of experience in Program and Project Management.
Experience with US Forest Service or other federal land management agencies preferred.
Preferred experience with interpretation and implementation of policy related to Forest Service land management planning.
Experience with disaster recovery efforts preferred.
Project Management Institute (PMI), Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is required for this position.
Proof of U.S. citizenship or authorization to work in the U.S.
Experience managing a team to support project objectives.
Experience with ESRI products preferred.
Must possess a good command of the English language.
Must have effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Must have the ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
Must possess problem solving skills and critical thinking.
Must be familiar with a wide range of software and general office equipment.
