About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide senior level program and project management support to the US Forest Service.
- Development, execution, and management of a PMO to support recovery efforts related to Hurricane Helene.
- Manage project staff and ensure quality project deliverables are completed including Project Planning Dashboards and Project Management Training.
- Coordinate Project Briefing Meetings and Partner Coordination.
- Establish and maintain a PMO dashboard.
- Provide overall management functions to staff supporting data management services and development of disaster recovery geodatabases.
- Provide training for GWJ employees in project management.
- Establish, organize, and implement a common operating framework for the Virginia Disaster Recovery Partnership (VDRP).
Requirements
What you’ll need- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree. Natural Resources or Business preferred.
- Ten years of experience in Program and Project Management.
- Experience with US Forest Service or other federal land management agencies preferred.
- Preferred experience with interpretation and implementation of policy related to Forest Service land management planning.
- Experience with disaster recovery efforts preferred.
- Project Management Institute (PMI), Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is required for this position.
- Proof of U.S. citizenship or authorization to work in the U.S.
- Experience managing a team to support project objectives.
- Experience with ESRI products preferred.
- Must possess a good command of the English language.
- Must have effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must have the ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
- Must possess problem solving skills and critical thinking.
- Must be familiar with a wide range of software and general office equipment.
