About the role
- Provide project support for project startup and ongoing support to the project team.
- Key in the ongoing management of project activity by creating and managing work plans, schedule and budget updates.
- Write organized processes and reports to back up information as it is created.
- Coordinate directly with Operations Manager and Project Manager to provide support for tracking deliveries and all materials.
- Create work plans for each activity, project tracking reports, budget reports, safety reports, and quality control reports.
- Track the work within the project scope to include taking measurements, pictures, and checking for completeness and quality.
- Review contract documents for understanding of project scope and tasks.
- Track quantities, accuracy, and quality of deliveries of materials and match deliveries to the manifest.
- Track total materials on the project and match their use against estimates.
- Assist Procurement on material purchasing and tracking.
- Assist in ordering and picking up materials as needed.
- Track daily activities for Safety, Quality Control and production.
- Assist in producing Activity Hazard Analysis (AHA’s) for safety and production requirements.
- File all project specific paperwork in a neat and orderly fashion for use as backup and information requests.
- Ensure all subcontractors and suppliers deliver job related documents including daily time tracking, progress reports, quality control, and production to assess compliance with requirements, standards, and performance.
- Assist Project Manager and Construction Manager in developing planning activities and provide that plan to the CM and PM at least a week ahead of each activity start.
- Attend all project meetings and assist project team in developing meeting reports.
- Record and track open actions, tasks, and maintain minutes for each meeting.
- Support/Initiate appropriate and approved project processes which ensure forward progress, highlight and mitigate risks, and ensure alignment with stated project objectives.
- Operate a company vehicle in accordance with local laws/regulations.
Requirements
- Associates degree or combination of experience in related field
- Construction Related Degree preferred
- One (1) year of Project or Field Engineer OR One (1) year Project Management OR One (1) year of Project Management support
- Current driver’s license – unencumbered and clear
- Proof of U.S. citizenship
- Understanding of basic mechanical terms and tools.
- Knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials and supplies.
- The ability to use hand tools, power tools and industry test equipment.
- Ability to learn and retain physical and mechanical installation specifications.
- Ability to read and understand drawings, job specifications, project schedules, quality control requirements etc.
- Ability to understand and comply with contract documents.
- Work schedule may require open availability including weekends, holidays and overnights determined by the needs of the business; must be flexible.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft office products and other project software.
- Strong written and oral communications skills.
- Must be able to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment, post-offer background check and drug screening.
