About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide safety and environmental guidance and support for HSE programs, including BBS, LERP, RCRA, Hazard Communication, LOTO, NFPA 70E, Confined Space, Ergonomics, PIV, air and noise monitoring, sustainability, waste management, DOT, and OSHA compliance
  • Refine programs and procedures to improve effectiveness and efficiency
  • Review and update safety policies and procedures for regulatory and corporate compliance
  • Train corporate team members and assist sites with HSE program compliance
  • Track federal, state, and local safety and environmental regulations and evaluate operational effects
  • Interface with Operations and technical support stakeholders to achieve safety and environmental objectives
  • Establish and coordinate facility audits, inspections, and observations
  • Follow up on corrective actions and document completion
  • Review and analyze audit data, including tracking and trending
  • Develop safety and environmental training content and delivery methods
  • Conduct gap assessments, adjust curricula, and provide training through a Learning Management System
  • Facilitate ergonomic assessments and recommendations using ergonomic analysis tools and/or Digital Human Modeling
  • Identify and prioritize ergonomic risks to improve efficiency, quality, safety, and operator injury outcomes
  • Collaborate on environmental initiatives involving waste reduction, reuse, recycling, resource conservation, circularity, recyclable contents, and materials
  • Collaborate with, mentor, and teach HSES team members and S&C employees on best practices and procedures

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, Environmental, Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering, Chemistry, Environmental Science, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience as a Safety & Environmental professional, or equivalent experience in an engineering and manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated sustained high-level performance in safety functions
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to simultaneously handle a variety of projects and assignments
  • Ability to develop effective approaches to technical objectives
  • Proven ability to design and deliver training
  • Incident investigation proficiency, including risk assessment, root cause analysis, countermeasure development, and PDCA measures
  • Willingness to travel to other S&C locations within and outside the United States
  • Experience with engineering, R&D, laboratory, or heavy manufacturing environments
  • Experience in data analytics and finding correlations in data
  • Ability to work flexible shifts as needed
  • Periodic travel by car and/or airline, 5% or less
  • Ability to perform activities including standing, extensive walking, climbing stairs/ladders, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, reaching, and handling
  • Ability to travel occasionally to other facilities and work non-traditional business hours as needed
