About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Expand Rystad Energy’s relationships with existing financial-sector clients, predominantly in the Southern United States
  • Retain and grow the existing client base and participate in new business development and landing new logos
  • Obtain and exceed KPIs to deliver on an annual sales target
  • Develop new client relationships across the full sales cycle, from lead origination through execution of the first contract, across North America
  • Present the company, research, and services in person at conferences
  • Understand each client’s core needs and build effective value propositions
  • Network at industry events to expand the brand
  • Manage client interactions through the company’s CRM system
  • Communicate activities and results internally with research, sales colleagues, and management
  • Provide feedback and suggestions on product enhancements and new product ideas
  • Ensure new products and services are onboarded properly
  • Travel up to 50% nationally, with occasional international trips

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 4–6 years of new business development, account executive, or sales experience in market intelligence focused on the financial sector
  • Experience negotiating with procurement and/or senior management
  • Experience selling research, data, software, or consulting services
  • Account management best practices and new business generation skills
  • Experience with energy-focused data and subscription software sales highly desirable
  • Ability to work independently, as part of a team, and pull in resources as required
  • Ability to build value propositions for databases based on specific personas and company types
  • Ability to quickly and effectively build new networks
  • Proficiency with standard Microsoft Office tools, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and CRM systems
  • Sales pipeline management and robust forecasting
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Knowledge of the global energy sector, including oil & gas and renewables
  • Experience selling market intelligence services
  • Consultative selling approach
  • Product demonstrations and excellent networking skills
  • Ability to network with Managing Directors and C-suite executives
  • Willingness to travel nationally and occasionally internationally, with up to 50% travel
