About the role
- responsible for sourcing transportation providers and providing tracking updates as needed to support customer requests
- develop a carrier coverage strategy and have full autonomy for supporting a customer's truckload & LTL coverage needs
- engage with Account Executives, Shipment Management Associates and Business Development Managers as needed to build a network of service providers
- tenders accept/reject loads, creates loads, sets appointments, dispatches, tracks and traces loads
- identifies and develops relationships with transportation providers
- negotiate rates with transportation providers to ensure margins are achieved for commission targets and account goals
- manage day-to-day planning and scheduling of coverage for loads
Requirements
- H.S. Diploma/GED, required
- Bachelor's Degree in Transportation Management, Logistics, Business Administration or related field, preferred
- 3 years or more in business experience, required
- Working knowledge of Transportation Industry, carrier modes & services and basic Supply Chain design and functionality. Advanced, required
- Knowledge and support of RIL policies and procedures. Advanced, required
- Demonstrated PC skills in MS Access, Excel, Word. Clear understanding of SMS legacy system. Intermediate, required
- Understanding of assigned customer, customer product and distribution requirements. Intermediate, required
