About the role
- provide financial analysis and support for the monthly close process
- annual business plan and new business opportunities to the West Operations team
- oversee explanations of variances vs. forecast / budget / prior year
- ensure billing opportunities are captured
- manage and develop finance support staff
- lead efforts for full financial training to operations personnel
- ensure adequate controls are in place to drive Sarbanes-Oxley compliance
- work with the Field Finance Director to translate, communicate and implement corporate financial policies, guidelines, procedures, and controls
- oversee the collection of accounts receivable
- support analysis of proposed new business including pricing and optimizing the deal structure
- provide detailed budget tracking for new business startups
- supervise an analyst, develop technical and process skills, as well as leadership competencies to build bench strength.
Requirements
- Master's degree required in Engineering, Statistics, Math or equivalent
- Ten (10) years or more related field experience required
- Ten (10) years or more experience in Corporate Finance, Applied Statistical Analysis or Transportation Industrial Engineering preferred
- Ten (10) years or more experience in the use of SAS, SPSS, Minitab or NCSS preferred
- Knowledge of MS Office advanced
- Proficiency in programming and/or relational database design/query, SQL advanced required
- Knowledge of statistical methodology, experimental design and strong interest in computer application for data management advanced preferred
- Ability to apply Time Series, Multivariate/Multiple Regressive or Econometric methodologies and techniques in data analysis and forecasting advanced preferred
- Knowledge of operational research techniques such as simulation, critical path analysis or mathematical modeling advanced preferred
- Knowledge of Ryder System Inc. operational procedures and data advanced preferred
