About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Work with a team to identify property tax savings opportunities for clients
- Conduct research and analyze and interpret comparable assessment data, market data, and sales transactions
- Assist with assessment review and monitor the appeal process for client portfolios
- Respond to client inquiries and requests from tax authorities
- Demonstrate understanding of the annual property tax cycle for assigned real property portfolios
- Build awareness of jurisdictional rules and filing requirements
- Collect, review, and understand client-provided data
- Inspect properties and prepare reports as necessary
- Analyze assessment notices and determine potential assessment reductions
- Use software to work efficiently with client data
- Handle appeals and monitor the appeals process
- Attend client status calls and meetings and provide supporting data and findings for leadership
- Develop understanding of clients’ industries, trends, processes, and core businesses
- Participate in recruiting efforts
- Interact and communicate effectively with team members
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Conduct minimal regional travel for meetings with the County in late summer/early fall, less than 10%
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Engineering, Economics, Real Estate, Business Management, Public Administration, MIS/Entrepreneurship, International Business or other degree with MBA, MST or JD
- One to three years of property tax related experience
- Candidates with appropriate valuation designations preferred
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong people skills
- Effective research, database reconciliation, and detailed calculation skills
- Desire to perform in a high-energy team environment
- Demonstrated leadership, problem solving, and strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks, work on multiple assignments, and manage ambiguity
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with professionals at all levels
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft® Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet navigation and research
- Valid driver’s license required
