About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support Property Tax practice functions, including property tax bill and assessment notice processing, mail handling, and scanning
- Perform independent research and analytical reviews
- Maintain software databases and ensure database and report integrity
- Respond to client inquiries and requests from tax authorities
- Establish relationships with taxing jurisdictions to verify assessment, tax bill, and deadline information
- Monitor compliance and filing requirements with staff and management
- Receive, identify, and sort incoming mail daily
- Batch tax documents for scanning and transmission to India resources, where applicable
- Navigate software databases to print tax returns and identify account setup issues
- Support Lead Analysts and management with database maintenance and tracking assessments, appeals, and tax bills
- Ensure tax bills and assessments are processed timely, allowing sufficient payment-processing time
- Maintain daily client contact and respond professionally to requests
- Prepare tax savings and refund calculations for client invoicing
- Collaborate with consultants to track properties through appeal and tax bill processes and manage deadlines
- Focus primarily on complex and/or large taxing jurisdictions
- Assist with training new Analysts
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- High-school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma required
- Minimum of three years of property tax experience or other tax-related experience
- Working knowledge of Property Point (preferred)
- General knowledge and ability to understand a tax calendar (preferred)
- Desire to perform in a high-energy team environment
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks, work on multiple assignments, and manage ambiguity
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team with professionals at all levels
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and internet navigation and research
- Valid driver’s license required
- Must have US work authorization that does not now or in the future require visa sponsorship
