About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Work with a team to identify tax savings opportunities for clients.
- Gain understanding of how clients compute each component of property tax.
- Research issues, reconcile databases, and complete detailed calculations.
- Assist the team with the verification process from the taxing authority.
- Create positive team member experiences, leading to excellent client service and driving revenue and profit for the Firm.
- Respond to client inquiries and requests from tax authorities.
- Attend client meetings and property inspections.
- Review client property tax records and apply software knowledge to efficiently work with client data.
- Prepare and review property reports and renditions.
- Analyze assessment notices and determine potential assessment reductions.
- File appeals and determine liability for development projects.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration/Management, Business Computer Information Systems, Economics, Engineering, Entrepreneurship, Finance, International Business, Public Administration, Real Estate or other degree with Master’s in Business Discipline.
- Relevant work experience preferred (e.g. internships, summer positions, school jobs) or Bachelor's degree and one to three years audit or tax related experience.
- The following accreditations and/or diploma are considered beneficial: AACI, AIMA, CRA, MIMA and RPA.
- Demonstrated leadership, problem solving, and strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, work on multiple assignments, and manage ambiguity.
- Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual must have intermediate knowledge of Microsoft® Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet navigation and research.
- Valid driver’s license required.
