About the role

  • Manages project scope, tasks, project teams, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation
  • Prepares and reviews deliverables in connection with client service
  • Oversees the functional and technical direction of projects
  • Maintains client relationships and provides guidance on project status
  • Assists with business development activities, including preparing proposals and engagement agreements
  • Provides project management support to client service teams and clients
  • Reviews documentation created by the project team
  • Develops templates and formats specifications for project deliverables
  • Creates and maintains master project resource contact lists
  • Assists in day-to-day project management duties

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree from a four-year college or university
  • Minimum of 2+ years experience working in a tax technology consulting role
  • Familiar with a retailer’s organizational process
  • Knowledge of the applicability of sales and seller’s use taxes on retail transactions
  • Knowledge of the “brick and mortar” transaction lifecycle
  • Knowledge of the e-commerce transaction lifecycle
  • Certified Public Accountant designation is a plus
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certified is preferred
  • Understanding of Software development lifecycles (SDLC, Agile, etc.)
  • Deep knowledge of Sabrix, Vertex, and/or Taxware
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft® Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Microsoft® Project, and Outlook
  • Hands-on experience with transaction tax integration with major ERP systems (Oracle, JDE, PeopleSoft, SAP)
