About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Negotiate and draft agreements, amendments, and other legal documents
- Provide timely legal advice to executives regarding agreements between Ryan entities and trading partners
- Ensure compliance with the Company’s market security protocols
- Advise business units on contract terms
- Research and evaluate risk factors related to business decisions and operations
- Apply risk management techniques and proactively advise on potential legal issues
- Communicate and negotiate with external parties
- Handle complex matters involving multiple stakeholders
- Build productive relationships and contribute to resolving legal matters
- Apply company policies and procedures to trading-partner agreements
- Collaborate with experienced team professionals
- Develop expertise in open brokerage and binding authority agreements, including Delegated Underwriting Authority agreements with Lloyd’s of London
Requirements
What you’ll need- Law degree with 2 years of related experience; or equivalent work experience
- License to practice law in at least one state
- Legal research skills involving contract terms and principles of contract interpretation
- Knowledge or ability to develop expertise in open brokerage and binding authority agreements
- Knowledge or ability to develop expertise in Delegated Underwriting Authority agreements with Lloyd’s of London
- Ability to negotiate and draft agreements, amendments, and legal documents
- Ability to advise executives and business units on contract terms and legal issues
- Ability to research and evaluate legal and operational risk factors
- Ability to apply risk management techniques
- Ability to communicate and negotiate with external parties
