Senior Project Engineer – Mission Critical

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist the Project Manager in the overall administration of the project, from pre-construction to closeout.
- Take a lead role in managing project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, and meeting minutes.
- Help prepare and maintain project status reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist in preparing and controlling the project budget by actively tracking job costs and labor productivity.
- Help prepare detailed bid documents and participate in the subcontractor buyout and negotiation process.
- Process and track change orders, ensuring all documentation is accurate and complete.
- Serve as a key point of contact for subcontractors, architects, and engineers to resolve day-to-day technical issues.
- Assist the Superintendent in developing and managing the project schedule to ensure milestones are met.
- Participate in and help lead jobsite coordination meetings, contributing to problem-solving and planning.
- Champion Ryan’s "Safety First" culture and assist in ensuring the highest standards of quality control.
- Take the lead in managing the project punch list process to ensure a timely and successful completion.
- Assist in the compilation of all final closeout documentation, including as-built drawings and O&M manuals.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a Project Engineer in the commercial construction industry.
- A passion for learning about technically complex projects is essential.
- Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and project management fundamentals.
- Proficiency with construction management software such as Procore and Building Connected.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills.
- A proactive, detail-oriented, and solution-focused mindset with the ambition to grow into a Project Manager role.
- You will really stand out if you have:
- Experience in the mission-critical sector (e.g., data centers, healthcare, advanced manufacturing).
- Experience with scheduling software such as P6.
- Eligibility: Position requires verification of employment to work in the U.S.
