About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead design work across product and communication experiences, from user flow mapping and wireframing through to final interface design and testing
- Champion a user-centred, evidence-led design approach, working with researchers and analysts to uncover insights and validate ideas through testing
- Collaborate across disciplines, including engineering, data, brand, content, and marketing teams, to ensure designs are achievable, consistent, and high-performing
- Contribute to the evolution of our design system, maintaining accessible, scalable patterns that align product and marketing design
- Run and facilitate design sprints and workshops, helping teams align on problems and rapidly test solutions
- Mentor junior designers, sharing methods, frameworks, and feedback to improve team capability and confidence
- Balance business and user goals, prioritising effectively and clearly communicating rationale to stakeholders
- Advocate for content design and accessibility best practices, ensuring every journey is inclusive and easy to use
- Identify opportunities and initiate design projects, framing problems, aligning stakeholders, and shaping briefs when they don’t yet exist.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Proven experience designing user-centred digital products, ideally within complex or regulated domains (e.g. finance, insurance, health)
- Excellent UX and UI skills, with a strong grasp of design systems, accessibility, and interaction design principles
- Confidence using Figma for everything from component design to full interactive prototypes
- Experience running and contributing to user research, including surveys, usability testing, and analytics review
- Comfortable mapping customer journeys across full product and marketing funnels
- Experience with form design, conversion flows, and behavioural insight techniques is a bonus
- Able to confidently lead design critiques, stakeholder reviews, and cross-functional workshops
- Empathy, curiosity, and strong communication skills — with the ability to articulate decisions clearly to peers and senior stakeholders
- Comfortable initiating projects and influencing roadmaps by spotting design-led opportunities for improvement.
