• Own end-to-end product design on high-impact features, from research and exploration to polished delivery.
• Redesign and improve critical tools such as our mobile dashboard, utility account integrations, and HVAC system control wizards.
• Shape how Runwise handles alerts, sensors, and system controls—everything from high-level dashboards to the nitty-gritty of setpoints.
• Collaborate closely with PMs, engineers, and building staff to ship quickly while solving real-world problems.
• Conduct user research and field testing, ensuring designs work effectively in basements, boiler rooms, and 40-year-old equipment environments.
• Maintain and evolve our design system—keeping it clean, consistent, and easy to use.

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of backend engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and technical excellence.
• Drive execution on product and infrastructure initiatives, ensuring projects are delivered on time and to a high standard.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership, particularly in Go and AWS serverless/cloud environments. Partner closely with product, hardware, and operations teams to define requirements, scope projects, and align technical efforts with business goals.
• Ensure operational excellence by improving observability, monitoring, and alerting across our cloud and IoT infrastructure.
• Contribute to scaling and optimizing our systems that process and analyze billions of data points annually.

Runwise is looking to hire a Strategic Finance Associate and add to one of the largest and fastest-growing prop-tech companies in the US.
Runwise (www.runwise.com) is a fast-paced, customer-focused climate-tech startup that controls and runs the key energy systems (heating, cooling, water, etc…) in 8,500+ buildings throughout the US. Runwise’s unique hardware and software service significantly reduces energy usage, substantially lowering costs and carbon output. As of today, Runwise’s technology takes the equivalent of 100,000 cars worth of carbon emissions off the road each year.
In this highly visible role, you’ll join a small, agile finance team with significant runway to develop, implement, and execute on Runwise’s financial strategy. Reporting to the Strategic Finance Manager, you’ll join a high-growth start-up as the second strategic finance hire, and leverage your analytical skills to solve complex financial challenges that do not have well-defined solutions.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Collaborate on and independently build sophisticated financial models and synthesize outputs into actionable insights to support immediate, medium, and long-term decision-making
Monitor financial performance metrics, cash flow dynamics, and other KPIs to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions whenever necessary
Strategically partner cross-functionally with other business units (e.g., sales, marketing, field service) to conduct deep-dive analysis, creatively solve ad-hoc analytical problems, monitor results, and iterate on alternative solutions
Work closely with the finance team and executive leadership to define and constantly improve the Company’s short and long-term financial strategy
Assist in evaluating potential M&A opportunities and strategic partnerships
Manage recurring and ad-hoc financial operations requirements such as financial reporting, investor data requests, quarterly sales incentive plan payouts, strategic partnership operations, etc.
