About the role
- Oversee litigation, third-party process, and regulatory requests involving the company
- Serve as our in-house expert on the regulatory and policy landscape relating to generative AI, including advising product and engineering teams on key developments
- Develop and execute Runway’s IP enforcement strategy
- Dive into the technical aspects of the product to learn it inside and out, to inform your advice to the business
- Manage outside counsel and external advisors as appropriate
- Support the team in a number of other legal domains, potentially including, but not limited to: employment, trust & safety, policy, commercial, privacy, IP, and/or others
Requirements
- A J.D. and admission in good standing with at least one state bar
- Strong business acumen
- 7+ years of experience, including 4+ years of experience in litigation (can include clerkships)
- Experience working with cutting-edge technologies is highly preferred
- The capacity to think big; a bias for action; and a strong sense of ownership
- A working knowledge of the key legal issues in Runway’s industry
- Excitement about generative AI and motivation to become a leading expert in the legal landscape governing a rapidly innovating industry, and how it should evolve
