About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Balance direct patient care with provider coaching and quality improvement across Rula’s 1099 psychiatric network
Conduct chart reviews and identify clinical, coding, and documentation issues
Deliver empathetic, direct feedback to providers
Translate clinical findings into actionable improvement plans
Cultivate strong, supportive relationships through peer outreach
Apply clinical judgment and organizational skills to support clinical excellence
Report directly to the Associate National Medical Director

Requirements

What you’ll need

Active, unrestricted PMHNP license in California
Active California DEA registration
Current PMHNP board certification through ANCC or AANP
Minimum 3 years of outpatient psychiatric practice experience
Experience providing comprehensive psychiatric care in a fully remote telehealth setting
Familiarity with remote safety protocols and clinical considerations
Strong knowledge of psychiatric CPT coding and documentation requirements, including E/M level selection, MDM, Total Time, psychotherapy add-on code 90833, and compliance standards
Ability to conduct chart reviews and translate clinical findings into actionable improvement plans
Proficiency with modern EHRs, ticketers, and data platforms such as AMD, Salesforce, Zendesk, Airtable, Looker, and G-Suite
Ability to adapt quickly to new software
Must be based in the United States; currently not hiring in Hawaii
Must be eligible to work in the United States
Preferred: active PMHNP licensure in multiple states
Preferred: quality improvement, chart audit, or peer coaching experience
Preferred: experience or interest in AI tools for clinical quality and productivity
Preferred: experience writing clinical guidance documents, documentation templates, or coaching resources
