About the role

  • Serve as a strategic technical leader responsible for shaping the long-term architecture of our core platform while mentoring and guiding engineers to build scalable, reliable, and secure systems.
  • Work across product and engineering teams to ensure our architecture evolves in step with Rula’s business strategy, balancing innovation with operational excellence.
  • Prototype and implement foundational services, lead technical design discussions, and help define engineering best practices that elevate quality across the organization.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience as a Software Engineer or Software Architect, with deep expertise in backend technologies.
  • 3+ years in a technical leadership role (Staff, Principal, or Architect) for a SaaS product supporting an engineering organization of 25–50+ engineers.
  • Proven experience working cross-functionally and leading through influence across engineering, product, and infrastructure teams.
  • Strong understanding of service-oriented architecture and cloud-based technologies.
  • Deep knowledge of security, performance, scalability, and maintainability best practices in distributed systems.
