About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design printed circuit boards from conception through manufacturing
Create PCB, Circuit Card Assembly (CCA), and schematic drawings for suppliers
Perform schematic capture, component placement, trace routing, and Gerber/ODB++ file creation
Use Siemens Xpedition Enterprise and BluePrint-PCB for drawings
Design rigid, flex, and rigid-flex assemblies
Complete full designs, re-spins, drawing updates, change notices, copper changes, and process-improvement projects
Interface daily with engineering personnel and Electrical, Mechanical, Components, Test, and Producibility Engineering disciplines
Ensure overall design requirements are captured while considering cost, cycle time, and producibility
Travel to El Segundo, California approximately three times per year

Requirements

What you’ll need

Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and less than 2 years of prior relevant experience
U.S. citizenship required
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance
Active and existing DoD Confidential security clearance required after day 1
Previous experience with PCB manufacturing or CCA manufacturing principles affecting circuitry and component layout is a plus
Experience with the electrical design process, preferably Siemens Xpedition Tools
Experience laying out Rigid, Flex, or Rigid-Flex boards
ABET-accredited school preferred, not required
3.0 cumulative GPA desired
Board layout experience with single- and multi-lamination boards
Experience with Siemens Xpedition Enterprise, Altium, EAGLE, or similar layout tools
Familiarity with IPC 6012 and IPC 6013 is a plus
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to effectively multitask
Ability to work effectively with coworkers from diverse communities and cultures, in person and remotely
Ability to work with colleagues representing diverse work and conflict-resolution styles
