About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design printed circuit boards from conception through manufacturing
  • Create PCB, Circuit Card Assembly (CCA), and schematic drawings for suppliers
  • Perform schematic capture, component placement, trace routing, and Gerber/ODB++ file creation
  • Use Siemens Xpedition Enterprise and BluePrint-PCB for drawings
  • Design rigid, flex, and rigid-flex assemblies
  • Complete full designs, re-spins, drawing updates, change notices, copper changes, and process-improvement projects
  • Interface daily with engineering personnel and Electrical, Mechanical, Components, Test, and Producibility Engineering disciplines
  • Ensure overall design requirements are captured while considering cost, cycle time, and producibility
  • Travel to El Segundo, California approximately three times per year

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and less than 2 years of prior relevant experience
  • U.S. citizenship required
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance
  • Active and existing DoD Confidential security clearance required after day 1
  • Previous experience with PCB manufacturing or CCA manufacturing principles affecting circuitry and component layout is a plus
  • Experience with the electrical design process, preferably Siemens Xpedition Tools
  • Experience laying out Rigid, Flex, or Rigid-Flex boards
  • ABET-accredited school preferred, not required
  • 3.0 cumulative GPA desired
  • Board layout experience with single- and multi-lamination boards
  • Experience with Siemens Xpedition Enterprise, Altium, EAGLE, or similar layout tools
  • Familiarity with IPC 6012 and IPC 6013 is a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to effectively multitask
  • Ability to work effectively with coworkers from diverse communities and cultures, in person and remotely
  • Ability to work with colleagues representing diverse work and conflict-resolution styles
