About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and maintain software integrated into Air Traffic Management Systems (ATMS) products
- Assist in maintaining documentation and work instructions to meet high-maturity-level software engineering standards and processes
- Collaborate with the team in the Agile process, including daily standups, sprint planning, retrospectives, backlog grooming, and story pointing
- Work with an integrated engineering team in a collaborative environment
- Participate in multi-level communication with engineering team members, program management, and external stakeholders
- Support, design, develop, integrate, and test operational software components throughout the software development lifecycle
Requirements
What you’ll need- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and less than 2 years prior relevant experience
- Demonstrated professional experience communicating in English (verbal and written)
- Exposure to software development, integration, testing, or validation, preferably in a Unix/Linux environment
- Familiarity with Java or C/C++ programming languages
- Basic knowledge of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Podman, Kubernetes)
- Proficiency with scripting languages such as Bash and Python
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
- Familiarity with asynchronous messaging frameworks
- Exposure to Agile methodologies and experience using tools like Jira, Confluence, Bamboo, or Bitbucket
- Interest in or willingness to learn Ada programming language
- Knowledge or experience with software testing or debugging source code
- Must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment; relocation is not offered
