About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assemble technical data packages and determine export control jurisdiction and classification of technical data, commodities, and software
  • Assist with analysis and interpretation of requirements for technical-data determinations
  • Process export and import documentation for international shipments
  • Review shipments for potential export or import classification issues
  • Classify commodities using HTS and Census Schedule B Export Codes
  • Maintain and update the product master database with HTS classifications and export classification determinations
  • Maintain proficiency with U.S. and international export and import regulations
  • Understand classification on-time delivery metrics and turnbacks
  • Review red flags or watch-list screening hits and escalate them according to Global Trade guidance and procedures
  • Assist with and participate in internal compliance audits and export-control investigations
  • Travel up to 10%

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • U.S. citizenship is required; only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
  • Selected candidate must reside in Puerto Rico
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • JCL 2 training
  • English reading, writing, and speaking proficiency required for relevant communications
  • Detail- and process-oriented, able to manage multiple tasks and adhere to specific timetables
  • Computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications: Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Access
  • Ability to read and understand drawings
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Physical Sciences bachelor’s degree preferred
