About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Communicate technical topics and issues clearly to technical peers and non-technical team members
- Review engineering drawings and models for structural integrity and FAA regulatory compliance
- Conduct and provide constructive feedback during peer reviews
- Mentor team members and document knowledge to provide technical guidance
- Work proactively with an integrated product team to identify risks and opportunities
- Coordinate with design teams to ensure robust design choices and compliance with environmental requirements, including shock, vibration, and crash loading
- Document analysis results for internal and external customers and support customer airworthiness certification on military airborne platforms
- Participate in and lead investigations into complex, open-ended tasks
- Identify root causes of issues
- Serve as functional lead for the stress team on specific projects
Requirements
What you’ll need- Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years of prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
- Demonstrated professional experience communicating in English across all levels of an organization, verbally and in writing
- U.S. citizenship required
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance
- Experience with finite element analysis software for structural considerations, such as ANSYS Mechanical or similar
- Experience calculating and documenting modal analysis, internal stress loading, fatigue, and safety margins
- Experience researching and investigating structural design solutions
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
- Knowledge of analysis of composite materials such as fiberglass, phenolic, and carbon fiber
- Experience in the aerospace industry, specifically aircraft interiors
- Experience running fatigue analysis
- Experience with 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Creo, CATIA, NX, or similar
- Knowledge of standards such as 14 CFR Part 25, MIL-STD-810, and RTCA DO-160
- Experience developing automation tools using Excel API, Python, and Visual Basic
