About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage the distributed products commodity for assigned business units
- Act as escalation point for supplier or internal issues
- Manage the assigned Supply Chain team
- Lead supplier contract and pricing negotiations through the gated Passport standard work
- Drive cost reduction projects using spend data, market conditions, program development, should-cost estimation, and volume aggregation
- Identify savings opportunities and lead cross-functional projects
- Lead supplier discussions and negotiations on cost savings, performance improvements, and Long Term Agreements
- Create and socialize annual Strategic Sourcing Review Board strategy
- Analyze existing contracts, identify gaps, and strengthen terms with Contract Managers
- Coordinate commodity strategies with overall organizational objectives
- Move spot buys onto long-term agreements
- Optimize market share for dual-source products
- Serve as Strategic Business Unit focal point for KPI reviews
- Identify and deliver savings through negotiations, transitions, and value engineering projects
- Ensure accurate reporting of savings and price increases
- Coordinate sourcing decisions for new programs with Supply Chain Directors, Design Engineers, Program Directors, and Product Introduction Management
- Monitor supplier market conditions and technology roadmaps and identify supply/demand challenges
- Support strategic commodity plan development and implementation
- Develop strategic supplier partnerships and lead supply-base efficiency projects
- Travel approximately 20%
Requirements
What you’ll need- University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 10 years of prior relevant experience, or an advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience
- 7+ years of experience in Operations, Supply Chain, Contracts Management, Business Development, or another business-related field
- U.S. citizenship required; only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
- Aerospace product knowledge preferred, including processes, manufacturing techniques, and quality requirements
- Prior team leadership experience or experience working in a highly matrixed organization preferred
- Supply Chain systems experience with SAP preferred
- Analytical experience preferred
- Proficiency with MS Excel, PowerPoint, and databases preferred
- Excellent analytical and negotiation skills preferred
- Project management experience preferred
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to travel approximately 20%
