About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Research, plan, and execute FAA certification processes for commercial aircraft seats and seating components
  • Perform standard engineering assignments and drive design decisions
  • Lead internal technical and design reviews for the Flammability Certification team
  • Compile FAA certification documentation for submission to commercial aircraft OEMs and regulatory agencies
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide technical leadership and guidance
  • Support Seating products within the Main Cabin Flammability Certification team

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field
  • Required bachelor’s degree focused on mechanical, aeronautical, civil, chemical, textile, or other relevant engineering under the FAA agreement
  • Must be a U.S. Person
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and productively with team members and cross-functional teams
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications
  • Working knowledge of FAA and EASA rules, regulations, policy memos, guidance materials, and standards related to aircraft seat certification preferred
  • Experience with TC, STC, PMA, or TSO certification processes preferred
  • Experience with materials and processes used in aircraft interiors design preferred
  • Prior aerospace industry experience, specifically with aircraft interiors, preferred
  • Prior experience reviewing and approving drawings preferred
  • Proficiency in engineering-related software programs preferred
  • No security clearance required
