About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support programs on Software Development Lifecycle activities, including requirements, design, coding, and testing
  • Coordinate closely with Collins Aerospace system and software engineers to drive unified goals
  • Support the system integration pipeline to automate and optimize development and deployment of complex military avionics systems
  • Research and select modern tooling for the development pipeline
  • Integrate tooling, applications, and scripts into the development pipeline
  • Research and select technologies to enable automation and increase flow
  • Develop small applications and scripts supporting integration and software-update flow
  • Create frameworks to automate software testing, deployment, and delivery
  • Perform design, development, integration, and verification activities for Military Avionics solutions
  • Travel estimated at less than 10% of the year

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years of prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
  • Professional experience communicating in English, verbally and in writing
  • U.S. citizenship required; only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
  • Experience mentoring junior team members
  • Experience leading and deploying program strategies and initiatives
  • Airborne software development/testing experience
  • Experience with Future Airborne Capability Environment (FACE)
  • RTCA/DO-178 or similar certification-based experience
  • Knowledge of Agile/Waterfall methods
  • Programming experience with C/C++, Python, HTML, JavaScript, CSS, Ada 95, or similar
  • Knowledge of Windows, Linux, LynxOS, or similar operating systems
  • Experience with Git, GitLab, SVN, Jira, Bitbucket, Bamboo/Panda, or similar tools/processes
  • Familiarity with Docker Desktop and/or containerization
  • Must reside in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment; relocation is not offered
