About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Develop architectures and analyze requirements for RF and microwave systems
Design RF hardware and perform hands-on testing of components, circuit card assemblies, and subsystems
Design and develop transmitters, receivers, and exciters
Design and optimize RF circuits, including receiver and exciter chains and individual components such as filters, limiters, and couplers
Collaborate with interdisciplinary power, digital, mechanical, and other teams
Perform schematic capture and RF routing
Provide technical support during transition to production and production activities
Manage cost and schedule and write proposals
Travel between multiple Massachusetts sites as needed

Requirements

What you’ll need

Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
Minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience
Experience with microwave/RF system, subsystem, and/or component analysis, design, and/or test
Experience with electromagnetic simulation tools such as HFSS, ADS, CST, and/or Mentor Graphics’ Xpedition
Experience with analytical tools such as MATLAB
Ability to obtain and maintain an Interim Secret U.S. government-issued security clearance prior to start date
U.S. citizenship required because only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Experience working in design from concept through production preferred
Experience translating system performance and operation specifications into hardware requirements, design, and test specifications preferred
Background in design for manufacturability, producibility, and cost constraints, including yield and margin analysis preferred
Experience in technical writing and oral presentations preferred
Technical background in cascade analysis/frequency planning, filter design and fabrication, circuit card assembly and fabrication, high-speed data converter testing/characterization, or low-noise RF source design and testing preferred
Active/existing Secret U.S. security clearance preferred
