About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design COTS hardware infrastructure systems, including X86-based processors
- Research and select servers, workstations, add-in interface cards, storage devices, and other COTS hardware
- Engineer BIOS and operating system configuration definitions
- Work in a laboratory environment using oscilloscopes, processor bus analyzers, emulators, data capture tools, and other standard test equipment
- Collaborate with hardware engineering disciplines, supply chain, suppliers, field engineering, on-site installation and trades, and customers
- Develop and deliver safety-critical radar systems
- Support occasional domestic travel and potential international travel
- Develop complete COTS-based hardware designs from system concepts, block diagrams, or requirements
- Perform design verification through integration and test plans and activities
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent STEM discipline
- Minimum five (5) years of professional experience
- Experience with emerging and legacy hardware and software, including Unix and Linux operating systems
- Experience developing and implementing computing, networking, and information technology infrastructure through rigorous design and documentation processes
- Experience taking a system design concept from block diagram or requirements level through complete COTS-based hardware design
- Experience with design verification through integration and test plans and activities
- U.S. citizenship required
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance
- Active and existing DoD Secret security clearance required after day 1
