About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design COTS hardware infrastructure systems, including X86-based processors
  • Research and select servers, workstations, add-in interface cards, storage devices, and other COTS hardware
  • Engineer BIOS and operating system configuration definitions
  • Work in a laboratory environment using oscilloscopes, processor bus analyzers, emulators, data capture tools, and other standard test equipment
  • Collaborate with hardware engineering disciplines, supply chain, suppliers, field engineering, on-site installation and trades, and customers
  • Develop and deliver safety-critical radar systems
  • Support occasional domestic travel and potential international travel
  • Develop complete COTS-based hardware designs from system concepts, block diagrams, or requirements
  • Perform design verification through integration and test plans and activities

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent STEM discipline
  • Minimum five (5) years of professional experience
  • Experience with emerging and legacy hardware and software, including Unix and Linux operating systems
  • Experience developing and implementing computing, networking, and information technology infrastructure through rigorous design and documentation processes
  • Experience taking a system design concept from block diagram or requirements level through complete COTS-based hardware design
  • Experience with design verification through integration and test plans and activities
  • U.S. citizenship required
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance
  • Active and existing DoD Secret security clearance required after day 1
