About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform responsibilities spanning all phases of the software engineering life cycle, including requirements analysis, design, code development, integration, verification, and documentation
- Architect, design, and develop software for real-time embedded navigation and timing solutions
- Develop software tools
- Support field demonstration efforts
- Provide customer support
- Mentor other engineers
- Apply GPS/PNT systems architecture knowledge to develop navigation products for military ground, airborne, and maritime applications
- Contribute to development of Positioning, Navigation and Timing products for warfighters
Requirements
What you’ll need- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field
- Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
- Active and existing Secret clearance required after day 1
- Knowledge of development and test tools
- Proficiency in developing embedded hardware/software applications
- Solid understanding of software development processes for real-time embedded hardware/software applications
- Strong verbal and written technical communication skills
- Software requirements and architectural skills with functional decomposition
- Strong technical documentation writing skills for security certification evaluation
- Experience with embedded hardware and real-time hardware systems
- Experience with Eclipse, Jira, and Jama
- Experience with C, C++, Ada, or other high-order languages in an embedded application environment
- Experience with hardware-centric products
- Experience with Python test scripting
- Experience with Agile methodology
- Working knowledge of Communication Systems, Message Handling, Digital Signal Processing, or Kalman Filter Theory
