About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Capture, decompose, and establish traceability for requirements
- Develop FPGA/ASIC/SoPC digital architectures and designs
- Develop RTL design code and simulations using VHDL, Verilog, and/or SystemVerilog
- Create UVM constrained-random environments using SystemVerilog
- Create placement and timing constraints
- Perform synthesis, place and route
- Perform static timing, linting, LEC, and clock-domain-crossing analyses
- Verify FPGA/ASIC/SoPC designs through inspection, analysis, simulation, and testing
- Create DO-254 DAL-A certification artifacts for airborne electronic hardware
- Conduct and participate in peer reviews throughout the product lifecycle
- Participate in FAA SOI audits
- Create engineering bids and support RFIs and RFPs
- Communicate with Engineering, Program Management, internal leadership, and customers
- Lead engineering teams and/or perform project engineer duties
- Recommend tools and practices to improve FPGA/ASIC design workflows
- Guide and mentor engineers
- Support Collins Avionics displays, computing, networking, and other aviation solutions
Requirements
What you’ll need- Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years of prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field
- Proficiency writing RTL and/or testbenches using VHDL, Verilog, or SystemVerilog
- Proficiency with Linux or Unix, scripting, C/C++, Python, and/or Perl
- Proficiency using FPGA-specific tools such as Questasim, Vivado, Libero, and Synplify Pro
- Experience with data interfaces including PCIe, DDR, I2C, Ethernet, CDN, and ARINC-429
- Experience with device-level timing and clock-domain crossing
- Ability to work with minimal supervision as part of a globally distributed engineering team
- Experience with UVM constrained-random methodology preferred
- Proficiency with DO-254 design assurance activities preferred
- Experience with video and/or networking concepts and architectures preferred
- Proficiency with chip-level verification techniques including constrained random, functional coverage, code coverage, LEC, and SystemVerilog preferred
- Experience managing cost, schedule, and performance objectives preferred
- Experience with risk management preferred
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under the program/contract
- No security clearance is required
