About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Identify and develop new sales leads, prepare winning proposals, and close major sales prospects
  • Engage new and prospective customers to understand requirements and qualify short- and long-term opportunities
  • Collect the Voice of the Customer and liaise with internal engineering and project teams on new product developments
  • Analyze markets, including size, location, and trends
  • Contribute to brand awareness and promotion
  • Develop working knowledge of relevant industry and competitor activity
  • Assist with business forecasting and planning
  • Liaise with staff in the U.K. and Japan
  • Travel up to 75%, including frequent domestic and occasional international travel for customer visits, trade shows, and conferences
  • Report directly to the Business Development Manager in the U.S.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years’ experience
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, manage work independently, make confident decisions, and collaborate effectively
  • Proven commercial awareness and track record of substantial business development outcomes
  • Ideally, experience in an international engineering environment such as electronics or sensors
  • U.S. citizenship required because only U.S. citizens are authorized to access certain necessary systems or sites
  • STEM degree preferred
  • Preferred experience selling or working with inertial or navigation sensors/systems, or working knowledge of navigation, guidance, or pointing systems
  • Relevant industry experience may include avionics, defense, marine, space, or surveying
  • No security clearance required
