About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as the primary Supplier Development representative supporting an assigned Strategic Business Unit (SBU).
  • Partner closely with Procurement (Supply Chain) to understand business priorities and translate them into supplier development strategies and execution plans.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality to align supplier development activities with business needs.
  • Participate in SBU operating reviews and cross-functional meetings, providing updates on supplier performance, risks, and improvement initiatives.
  • Support prioritization of supplier development resources based on business needs and operational impact.
  • Ability to travel domestically and/or internationally up to 30%.
  • Manage and monitor SBU supplier development KPIs, including leading and lagging indicators, to evaluate supplier performance, readiness, and operational risk.
  • Identify emerging supplier risks and coordinate mitigation plans with Procurement (Supply Chain) and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for supplier development issues impacting the SBU, coordinating with crisis teams or cross-functional response teams as needed.
  • Monitor supplier recovery and improvement plans, ensuring actions are effectively executed and sustained.
  • Provide regular reporting and insights to support business reviews and operational decision-making.
  • Lead supplier development activities for assigned business programs by coordinating priorities, tracking execution milestones, managing risks, and ensuring timely delivery of development objectives.
  • Partner with Procurement (Supply Chain), Operations, and Supplier Development teams to align supplier capacity with production demand and New Product Introduction (NPI) requirements.
  • Support demand forecast reviews to ensure supplier readiness and timely execution of development activities.
  • Coordinate execution of Supplier Development Plans (SDPs) for critical suppliers supporting the assigned SBU.
  • Track progress of supplier development initiatives and communicate status, risks, and recovery actions to stakeholders.
  • Coordinate supplier development activities across Procurement (Supply Chain), Supplier Development, Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and Operations to support integrated business priorities.
  • Collaborate with Global Supplier Development Commodity Leads and Procurement teams to drive consistent supplier development strategies across multiple commodities.
  • Foster collaboration across a matrix organization to ensure alignment on supplier priorities, resource allocation, and risk mitigation.
  • Share best practices and lessons learned across Supplier Development teams to support continuous improvement.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Typically requires: A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience.
  • Experience in Supplier Development, Procurement, Supply Chain, Supplier Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, or a related function within a complex manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating cross-functional initiatives in a highly matrixed organization.
  • Experience in supplier performance management, capacity planning, operational readiness, and supply chain risk management.
