About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support the monthly payroll process for RTX accounting ledger
- Preparing and posting complex journal entries
- Completing account reconciliations in an accurate and timely manner
- Provide reporting and support analysis to Finance leads across RTX business unit
- Assist with internal and external auditor requests
- Act as a resource for other Payroll Accounting team members to analyze and develop solutions to a variety of complex problems
- Participate in critical projects, collaborating with Payroll Operations, Payroll Tax, HR, Benefits Finance, 3rd party vendors, Digital Technology, Internal Controls and the SBU’s
- Focus on process improvement and alignment across Strategic Business Units (SBU’s) to drive accuracy and efficiency
- Cultivate a culture focused on controls and compliance with US GAAP, RTX Policy and U.S. government cost accounting standards (CAS)
Requirements
What you’ll need- A Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field
- Minimum 5 years relevant experience ideally gained in a public accounting/private industry or corporate setting OR an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience
- Experience with Payroll Accounting
- Experience with monthly payroll process, preparing and posting complex journal entries, and completing account reconciliations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications, SAP and Blackline
