About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the support APU/TJ Supply Chain activities by analyzing and dispositioning Quality Notifications (QNs), responding to Electronic Supplier Requests for Information (eSRI), providing engineering support to supplier transitions, executing hardware Engineering Changes to improve quality, cost, and producibility metrics.
  • Coaching and reviewing the work of P1/P2 engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing across the team.
  • Perform Computer-Aided Design (CAD) functions to manipulate and create 2D geometries, 3D models, and 3D assemblies to meet fit, form, and function requirements and support engineering documentation.
  • Interpret and define tolerances and features in part drawings.
  • Lead efforts to develop and incorporate new ways to advance technology and improve processes as an individual and as a team contributor.
  • Perform advanced engineering analyses such as structural assessments, thermal evaluations, tolerance stack‑ups, and other calculations required to support design decisions.
  • Lead escape investigations, identifying root causes and execute implementation of corrective actions and design enhancements.
  • Participate as a design support lead in integrated product teams for small projects to provide design solutions that balance performance, cost, schedule, and quality requirements.
  • Prepare and present status and technical content to Program Chief Engineers, APU leadership, customers, and suppliers; effectively communicate complex issues and recommendations.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and customers.
  • Advance continuous improvement efforts, including process updates, Engineering Knowledge Systems document development, and engineering best‑practice implementation.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • 5 years of engineering experience or an advanced degree with 3 years of engineering experience
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Power point, Outlook)
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and understanding of ASME Y14.5 GD&T standards.
  • Experience with Computer‑Aided Engineering (i.e. FEA, CAD, etc.) software, Teamcenter, SAP and programming languages.
  • Experience working in the Aerospace Industry, Auxiliary Power Units and Jet Engines.
  • Advanced mechanical aptitude to understand the interactions of complex assemblies and how to translate those interactions into sound analytical assumptions.
  • Communication and collaboration skills, ability to influence and resolve complex technical issues, Team oriented, interpersonal, time management and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of project management concepts (scheduling, risk management, action tracking).
