About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide leadership, guidance, and coaching to the travel and expense team members
- Assign and prioritize tasks to ensure timely and accurate processing of expense reports
- Handle escalations and resolve issues effectively, professionally in a timely manner
- Serve as the primary point of contact for escalated travel and expense-related inquiries
- Meet team Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and goals
- Foster a positive and motivating work environment, encouraging staff to meet and exceed performance targets
- Collaborates with other team leads to align resources where they are most needed
- Provide training and guidance for employees on travel and expense policies and system usage as required
- Identify training needs and work with management to develop and implement training programs for the team
- Evaluate current travel and expense processes and identify opportunities for efficiencies and enhancements
- Performs additional responsibilities and tasks assigned to support the overall objectives of the team/department
Requirements
What you’ll need- An Associates Degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience
- In lieu of a degree, 8 years of relevant experience may be considered
- Experience in expense reporting finance or an adjacent field, preferably in a large multi‑business unit organization
- Experience with government accounting concepts including allowability rules and regulations around expense reporting
- 1+ year of experience with Concur or other travel and expense operating systems
