About the role
- maintaining the RAN’s capability on the Hobart Class DDG Destroyers
- be the technical lead of a team of systems, hardware, software, speciality engineering and logistics designers developing and implementing design changes to the Combat System
- interacting directly with members of the DDG System Project Office and Ship Staff
- planning and managing a variety of projects that span the entire systems engineering lifecycle
- undertaking Development of integrated master plans and schedules
- Allocation of team members to tasking
- Monitoring the technical performance against plan and taking corrective action when required
- Identification of risks and opportunities
- Accurate and timely reporting to the Project Manager and other stakeholders
- Liaison with Subject Matter Experts both within the CSSA and with Raytheon’s functional leads
- Developing and delivering presentation material for regular stakeholder meetings and at major status reviews
- Share expertise and lessons learned with your peers
- Provide mentoring and career development advice to team members
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (or equivalent)
- 5+ years experience leading a multidisciplinary technical team
- Demonstrable experience in one or more of the Systems Engineering lifecycle elements such as Requirements Development, Design Definition, Design Development, Integration and Verification
- Excellent written and oral communications skills essential.
- Use and application of technical standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques.
- Experience in a Defence related industry is highly desirable
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a NV-1 Security clearance as needed.
