About the role

  • Lead and coordinate product engineering projects and strategic initiatives, driving cross-functional collaboration and ensuring alignment with technical and business objectives.
  • Process engineering change requests in the PLM system, including analyzing product documentation, assessing interchangeability, routing for approval, and auditing.
  • Evaluate/interpret all engineering inputs for proper classification, adherence to drafting and engineering standards, and the impact on product structure and other Collins products.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable procedures, regulatory and customer requirements, and evaluate the interrelationship of change impacts with other product lines and business units.
  • Coordinate and maintain documentation within the customer portal, ensuring integration with PLM and SAP systems for items such as Bills of Materials (BOM), Document Information Records (DIR), product specifications, and mechanical designs/models.
  • Develop and maintain standard job instructions for both general as well as functionally specific business processes.
  • Support ongoing Teamcenter migration cleanup efforts by managing daily tasks that enhance data accuracy and streamline system performance.
  • Escalate issues, risks, and blockers efficiently.
  • Keep management informed of progress to ensure alignment.
  • Support the team with any ad-hoc data-related tasks.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and less than 2 years prior relevant experience
  • Demonstrated professional experience communicating in English (verbal and written).
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
  • Experience/knowledge in SAP, TEAMCENTER, PLM, Configuration Management / Data Management, SharePoint
  • Experience writing Standard Job Instructions and/or Work Procedures
  • Knowledge of MS Office programs, including Word, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint
  • Experience in industry best practice to drive and advocate for continuous process improvement
  • Interpretation of engineering drawings and technical specifications
  • Experience with engineering change and manufacturing process
  • General knowledge of Project Management
  • Ability to read and understand technical processes
  • Technical writing experience
