About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Review and process payroll benefits cases submitted via ServiceNow (SNOW) for all business units
- Research, evaluate and ensure payroll benefit issues and discrepancies are resolved in a proper and timely manner
- Complete Benefits payroll processing procedures while ensuring accurate earnings and deductions and meeting strict state compliance payroll deadlines
- Apply state/local laws, union rules, and business unit ‑ specific policies to transaction processing while supporting audit activities by maintaining accurate and timely documentation for all payroll actions
- Prepare, audit, and submit benefit payment transactions related to terminations, transfers, and leave of absence for employee changes across all divisions
- Collaborate with the Payroll Service Center to load, validate, and reconcile overpayment and arrears payments
- Collaborate with Total Rewards, Leave of Absence, Human resources, Payroll Ops, Vendors and Time & Labor Teams on case processing and employee inquiries
- Directly communicate results of calculations, discrepancies, and case resolutions to employees and stakeholders
- Participate in testing payrolls and reviewing the outcome and troubleshooting issues
- Review and ensure payroll benefits activities comply with company policies and relevant regulations in regard to 401K, HSA, FSA, and company match programs
Requirements
What you’ll need- An Associates Degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience
- In lieu of a degree, 8 years of relevant experience may be considered
- Experience in payroll operations or an adjacent field, preferably in a large multi‑business unit organization
- Knowledge of payroll concepts including benefits, earnings, deductions, pretax adjustments, autopay, and offsets
- Strong analytical, reconciliation, and audit skills
- Experience working with tools such as ADP EV5 and/or Global View, Workday, Service Now, and reporting systems
- Proficiency in analyzing Leave & Earnings Statement documents for benefits related payroll calculations and explanation
- Experience processing termination and transfer transactions related to final pay and other time-off payouts across business units especially as it relates to benefits
- Familiarity with SOX controls and payroll compliance processes
- Advanced Excel analytical skills (Pivot Tables, Xlookup, etc.)
