About the role

  • Resolution of mechanical, thermal or structural problems of difficult and complex scope, seeking a balanced system solution, ensuring engineering excellence.
  • Generate development hardware designs that meet objectives and facilitate the delivery of the hardware on schedule.
  • Process technically sound engineering changes within schedule that meet performance metrics.
  • Utilize standard work and CORE/ACE tools to continuously improve the design process.
  • Work with other disciplines of the Integrated Product Team (IPT) including project, Thermal and Structural analysis and electrical design.
  • Support of cockpit displays, flight controls, air management systems, military avionics and other avionics equipment for helicopters or fixed wing aircraft.
  • Tasks may include clean sheet design, delivering development hardware, facilitating delivery of production hardware, processing engineering changes, and support of fielded engines.

Requirements

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
  • Have demonstrated problem solving skills and an understanding of engineering principles
  • Direct experience with thermal, structural and electronic packaging
  • Understanding hardware and manufacturing methods
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail, deadlines, and reporting.
  • Ability to clearly and concisely communication to all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a consistent record of collaboration, innovation, and initiative.
  • Must be commutable distance to Windsor Locks, CT to work a hybrid schedule.
  • Preferred: Working knowledge of Environmental testing equipment, procedures and qualification activities (e.g. RTCA DO-160 or MIL-STD-810G)
  • Preferred: Familiarity with the design and manufacturing processes of CCAs, metal housings
