About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Conduct internal investigations of matters implicating export control and sanctions compliance concerns, including interviewing witnesses, gathering relevant documents, and consulting with subject matter experts across Pratt & Whitney and RTX
Research the applicability of U.S. and foreign regulations concerning controlled military and dual-use items, and determine whether a matter constitutes a violation of Global Trade regulations or policies
Draft disclosures and reports for submission to U.S. and foreign government agencies and internal stakeholders
Support Global Trade Investigations & Disclosures group initiatives and projects, as needed
Continually enhance and improve Pratt & Whitney’s 'Speak Up' culture while acting with integrity at all times

Requirements

What you’ll need

Juris Doctor degree and 10+ years of legal experience, including five years as a practicing attorney
Good standing with a state bar association and in-house counsel registration in a timely manner following hire
U.S. Citizen - U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access certain necessary systems or sites
Familiarity and experience with U.S. export, import, and sanctions regulations, including the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)
Sophistication in the use and understanding of digital technology tools, including software platforms used in engineering and manufacturing disciplines
Ability to work and communicate effectively with all levels of management, internal clients, and Global Trade professionals enterprise-wide
Demonstrated ability to work with minimal daily supervision and to balance numerous priorities within competing timeframes
Background within an aerospace manufacturing environment beneficial, but not required.
