About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Leading the development, integration, and oversight of enterprise-level or multi-program MIL-STD-1472 compliant Human Factors programs.
  • Serving as the technical authority for Human Factors Engineering (HFE) across programs, ensuring consistency, rigor, and alignment with customer expectations.
  • Driving Human Factors strategy across integrated product teams to proactively eliminate hazards and influence system architecture decisions early in the lifecycle.
  • Providing expert guidance to program leadership, engineering disciplines, and customers on Human Factors methods, standards, and trade-offs.
  • Establishing and maintaining strong customer relationships, acting as a primary interface for Human Factors across government and contractor stakeholders.
  • Influencing program execution from concept development through production, sustainment, and disposal, ensuring Human Factors considerations are embedded throughout.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Extensive experience with DoD Human Factors Programs (e.g., MIL-STD-1472) and application across the system lifecycle.
  • Typically Requires: Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) and minimum 10–12 years of relevant Human Systems Integration, Human Factors Engineering, or Safety Engineering experience. An advanced degree may account for additional years of experience as required for this position.
  • Demonstrated experience leading development and execution of Human Engineering Program Plans, Assessments, and Analyses across complex systems or multiple programs.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence system design decisions.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required.
