About the role
- Technical lead of a team of systems, hardware, software, speciality engineering and logistics designers maintaining the RAN’s capability on the Hobart Class DDG Destroyers
- Develop and implement design changes to the Combat System across the whole design lifecycle from requirements definition through to customer Acceptance
- Interact directly with DDG System Project Office, Ship Staff and other end users while physically present at DDG home port
- Plan and manage projects spanning the entire systems engineering lifecycle
- Develop integrated master plans and schedules and organisational structures
- Allocate team members to tasking and monitor technical performance against plan, taking corrective action when required
- Identify risks and opportunities and provide accurate timely reporting to the Project Manager and stakeholders
- Liaise with Subject Matter Experts within CSSA and Raytheon functional leads and develop/deliver presentation material for stakeholder meetings and major reviews
- Share expertise and lessons learned, provide mentoring and career development advice to team members
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (or equivalent)
- 5+ years experience leading a multidisciplinary technical team
- Demonstrable experience in one or more Systems Engineering lifecycle elements such as Requirements Development, Design Definition, Design Development, Integration and Verification
- Excellent written and oral communications skills
- Use and application of technical standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques
- Experience in a Defence related industry is highly desirable
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a NV-1 Security clearance as needed (eligibility at http://www.defence.gov.au/agsva)
- Ability to have a physical presence at DDG home port or work from specified Raytheon Australia offices
