About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Utilize mechanical hardware design experience and knowledge with ruggedized structures, interconnects, electromechanical development, cooling, or array integration of phase array radars/electronics for multiple military programs
- Develop technical solutions to a wide range of complex problems related to the entire product life cycle including proposal, design, manufacture, integration and test of phase array radars/electronics for multiple military programs
- Employ transition-to-production practices with the ability to lead a design release into production
- Provide technical conscience, challenged with making sure the product and process meet appropriate standards and requirements while helping to remove roadblocks
- Work with minimal direction or supervision, while exercising considerable latitude in determining the technical objectives of the assignment while meeting cost, schedule, quality, and performance requirements for the finished product
- Lead a small team of mechanical engineers when required
- Collaborate frequently with cross-functional personnel, on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations
Requirements
What you’ll need- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
- Minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience
- Experience in the design of radar architecture or electronics packaging for military or aerospace applications
- Experience with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerances)
- Experience with ANSI drawing standards and/or first order or structural analysis techniques
- Experience with CREO (Pro/E) or similar 3D solid modeling software
- Cognizant of machine and designing capabilities or have direct experience in manufacturing and assembly support role for producibility
- Familiarity with the design and manufacturing processes of CCAs, mechanical/RF components, metal housings, structures, and electronics assemblies
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Excellent verbal and written communications and interpersonal skills when working with team members and customers
- Advanced degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Aerospace Engineering.
