About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • We're looking for a creative, collaborative, and highly motivated computational biologist to join our Applied Biosciences R&D team to work on exciting, advanced biology research projects for the U.S. Government.
  • The candidate will work with a team of about 12 people, and contribute to multi-year, interdisciplinary programs that bring together teams in biology, engineering, and data science to develop and transition new biotechnology solutions in support of national security.
  • Candidates should expect that they may be required to travel to a BBN, RTX, teammate, or customer site for meetings or other business-related activities.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or related field
  • Demonstrated programming experience (navigating Linux command line environment; Python for biological analysis and software development)
  • Experience using development infrastructure such as git/version control, virtual environments (e.g., conda, Python venv, R renv, virtual machines), containerization (e.g., Docker, Apptainer), etc.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
